How to book a court for a group of 10 or 20

Short version: a group of 10 fits comfortably on one or two courts with players rotating; 20 works best across all three playing courts for the same block. Book the courts online for your slot, and message the venue for anything that needs coordinating — a bracket, a longer block, food.

How many courts for how many people

  • 8–12 players: two playing courts. Four on each, the rest rotate in every game to 11 — nobody sits long.
  • 13–20 players: all three playing courts for the same slot. Run a king-of-the-court ladder or a quick round-robin.
  • Mixed levels: put stronger players on one court and beginners on another for the first hour, then merge for the last.

Booking it

On the Book page, reserve each court you need for the same date and start time. Availability shows live, so you can see immediately whether all three are open for your block. Each court takes its own 50% deposit. For a block longer than three hours, a recurring weekly slot, or a formal bracket, message the venue on Facebook and they will set it up.

Planning the session

  • Length: two hours is the sweet spot for 10–20 people — enough for everyone to play several games without it dragging.
  • Equipment: bring or borrow enough paddles (say so when you book). Tell first-timers to read the rules guide beforehand.
  • Rotation: put one person in charge of the queue so games start on time and nobody is forgotten.
  • After: there is a coffee corner on site for the hang afterwards.

Formats that work for a crowd

Round-robin: fixed pairs, everyone plays everyone, points added up — good for a competitive group. King of the court: winners stay, losers rotate off, challengers come on — fast and self-levelling. Mixer: re-draw partners every round — best for a social where the point is to play with everyone. For a company event, see the team-building guide.

Put it into practice on court.
